Make Them Cave Into Love

Almighty God,

I come before you,
once again,
after another shooting.

I am sad, God.

So I ask you
to receive into your loving care the souls of those who were killed,
to care for those who were wounded or hurt in any way,
to console the family members and friends of those who died or were wounded,
to strengthen the hands of the rescue workers, medical professionals and caregivers

I pray too for the shooter, as I must as a Christian.

Caveintolove.Org is a poignant mission led by compassionate Chaplains Ernest & Debbie Walker. Their unwavering commitment is to combat the alarming rise of gun violence that continues to plague our society. Recent statistics reveal the devastating impact of this crisis. In the United States alone, gun violence claims the lives of over 40,000 individuals each year, with a staggering number of those deaths attributed to suicides by guns. Additionally, the frequency of mass shootings has reached alarming levels, leaving communities shattered and families torn apart. In the face of these harrowing statistics, Chaplains Ernest & Debbie Walker have embarked on a journey of love and healing. Their tireless efforts have taken them across the country and even to Canada, where they have witnessed firsthand the urgent need for change. Now, they humbly appeal to families and friends to become hosts of a Caveintolove.Org event in their city, uniting together to put an end to this senseless violence.

Join us at CAVEINTOLOVE.ORG for a transformative Bible study led by State Representative Carl Sherman Sr. Our mission is to bring together clergy from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to explore the teachings of the Bible on community and the church's responsibility. We will also delve into the challenges faced by the church in the aftermath of COVID-19. Did you know that church attendance has been declining in recent years? According to a study by the Pew Research Center, the percentage of Americans who identify as religiously unaffiliated has been steadily increasing. This trend highlights the need for us to come together as a community and strengthen our churches. The COVID-19 pandemic has further strained the relationship between churches and their members. With lockdowns and restrictions on gatherings, many churches have struggled to maintain their sense of community and provide support to their congregations. It is crucial for us to address these challenges and find ways to rebuild and reconnect. At CAVEINTOLOVE.ORG, we believe that by setting aside our egos and working together, we can make a lasting impact on our communities. We invite you to join us for this Bible study and contribute your insights and experiences. By registering via email at caveintolove@gmail.com, you will secure an assigned seat and receive an agenda of topics for discussion. We value your input and encourage you to suggest agenda items that are important to you. If you are already making a positive impact in our community, please let us know so that we can include your valuable contributions in our solutions. Thank you for your support, and may God bless you. Together, let us cave into love and create a stronger, more united church community.

Guns can be one of the toughest subjects to talk to Veterans about. Many of the friends I served with own at least one. They know how to handle, shoot and store their guns correctly and safely due to their extensive training in the military. They’re responsible gun owners who have a right to own them. But as someone who is passionate about Veteran suicide prevention, I have to be frank: Guns (https://news.va.gov/?s=guns) are used in the vast majority of Veteran suicides. Because of that, guns need to be part of any conversation—no matter how controversial—abo ut preventing Veteran suicide.

A YOUNG BLACK BOYS CREED by: Ernest Walker III MY FUTURE SON I will choose knowledge over violence, my creed is clear, For I want to live long and hold my future son near. In the inner city, where hope seems to fade, Gun violence among young black boys pervades. But I refuse to be a statistic, a life cut short, I'll pick up a book, for knowledge is my support. I will choose knowledge over violence, my creed is clear, For I want to live long and hold my future son near. Trials and tribulations may come my way, But I'll lift my head high, seeking guidance each day. Praying for a better future, showing that I care, Aware that guns only add to the despair. I will choose knowledge over violence, my creed is clear, For I want to live long and hold my future son near. In a community where many don't believe they'll survive, I'll defy the odds, with books I will thrive. For I want to live, to meet my precious son, To break the cycle of violence, to be the one. I will choose knowledge over violence, my creed is clear, For I want to live long and hold my future son near. With strength from a higher power, I'll face every test, Navigating challenges, never settling for less. Hour by hour, I'll confront my strife, Knowing that education is the key to a better life. I will choose knowledge over violence, my creed is clear, For I want to live long and hold my future son near. Against all odds, I'll give it my all, Refusing to let anything hold me in thrall. Though I may stumble, I won't be flawed, I'll rise again, guided by a higher applaud. I will choose knowledge over violence, my creed is clear, For I want to live long and hold my future son near. With God by my side, I'll stay on track, No obstacle will hinder, no setback will hold me back. I'll learn from elders, their wisdom I'll embrace, Respecting their expectations, avoiding a dark chase. I will choose knowledge over violence, my creed is clear, For I want to live long and hold my future son near. I won't succumb to gun violence's allure, For I want to live, my son's love to secure. I'll never quit, my determination won't wane, Becoming the best version of myself, breaking the chain. I will choose knowledge over violence, my creed is clear, For I want to live long and hold my future son near. This is my creed, my pledge to end the strife, To choose books over guns, to embrace a better life. For I want to live, to meet my precious son, And together, we'll rise, a victory hard-won. I will choose knowledge over violence, my creed is clear, For I want to live long and hold my future son near. By: Chaplain Ernest Walker III Copyrights (C)2023 #caveintolove Caveintolove.org
